NEBOSH has recently launched the update with NEBOSH HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK AWARD. The three-day qualification is popular in countries around the world for giving learners the first steps to health and safety competence. The qualification has new mode of assessment which is a workplace review. NEBOSH believes that encouraging the learners to think practically is the best way of learning and effective way of application in a real life job set up.
The course focuses on health and safety management, gain practical skills , apply principles of risk assessment and to maintain a positive impact in the workplace
Who should take the course?
The qualification is designed for anyone who needs to understand the principles of health and safety as part of their job; this would include team leaders and supervisors, HR professionals, facilities managers and those training young people in a working environment. Many people take the NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award as a first step in a career in health and safety. It gives a valuable overview, and is a sound basis for further professional study
What is the duration?
The course will be delivered in 23 notional hours or 3 days full-time block course. The course is also available in distance learning and elearning.

- Dealing with common workplace hazards
- Stopping incidents and ill-health before they happen
- Learning from incidents
What is the qualification level?
SCQF Level 5 (equivalent to RQF Level 2) with 2 credits
How will be the assessment?
To achieve the qualification, learners must complete and pass the Unit HSA1 assessment. This assessment is a workplace health and safety review which should be carried out in the learner’s own workplace.
What is the passing mark?
You must achieve the pass standard 45 out of 60 (75%) in this unit in order to pass the assessment and achieve the qualification
Qualification grade: Pass or Refer
