WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?

This is designed for aspiring environmental management professionals. The course equips the HSE practitioners with broad knowledge and understanding yo fulfil their role.

The course also  provides the professionals the knowledge and understanding about the ISO 14001, which helps organization to comply their certification to build a great edge in the market.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?

The qualification is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:

  • Unit ED1: Controlling environmental aspects
  • Unit IDEM2: Environmental Regulation

HOW TO STUDY THE COURSE?

Every learner must register with NEBOSH accredited Learning Partner. Self-study is not allowed by NEBOSH. The course is available in different modes of study, such as face to face.  Elearning, Distance Learning, Online Live or virtual training

HOW LONG DOES THE COURSE TAKE?

The course has a total of 119 recommended taught hours and 112 hours of private study. Learning partners have designed different schedules to cope up with the candidates’ availability, such as splitting it into weekly and daily classes, provided that it meets the standard taught hours required.

WHAT’S THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION TO ENROL FOR THE COURSE?

There are no specific barriers, in terms of academic qualifications, skills or experience for entry to the NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management programme. However, it should be noted that the assessments are offered, and must be answered, in English only.

NEBOSH recommends that students undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System score of 7.0 or higher in order to be accepted onto an International Diploma programme.

HOW THE QUALIFICATION WILL BE ASSESSED?

Unit ED1 is assessed by a three-hour written examination. Students choose to answer 5 out of 8 questions.

Environmental regulation: Unit IDEM2 is assessed by a written assignment of approximately 8000 words, designed to test knowledge across the syllabus.

Students must successfully complete both parts of the assessment (assignment and examination) within five years of the result declaration for the first unit successfully completed in order to achieve the qualification.

WHAT IS THE PASSING MARKS?

The pass standard for each unit may vary according to pre-determined criteria but is normalised to 45% for the written paper (Units ED1) and 50% for the assignment unit (Unit IDEM2).

WHAT LEVEL IS NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management?

NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management credit rated by  Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accreditation and sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 10 equivalent to RQF/CQFW Level 6 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
