Why you have chosen to enrol for NEBOSH HSE CERTIFICATE IN PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT?
I regard NEBOSH as an Internationally Recognized Certification Body as I always try to go for the best. I have my academic background in Chemical/Process Engineering and my work experience has been mostly in HSE in several industries(manufacturing, oil and gas and construction), as such I tried to look for a certification/program that can bridge the gap between be experience and academic background such that I will gain greater benefit from the integration of the two field as well as help me streamline my HSE Focus in Process Safety such that I can be one of the Top Process Safety Professionals in the world
Have the course met your expectation?
My expectations as regards the classroom teaching was met, focusing on oil and gas activities, I would expect NEBOSH to consider Theoretical Questions like NEBOSH Diploma in their next review of the NEBOSH Process Safety Management Exam/Structure Guidance
What topic in the course inspired you most?
Element 3: Process Safety Hazard Control
What impact has completing the course had on your career?
It opened my eyes to learn the safety aspect of Process Engineering and how the engineering principles also applies to safety
What advice would you give someone who is considering a career in Process Industry?
Process Industry be it oil and gas or other sectors is very hazardous and risk is very high, while Engineering Principles show the balances, design, piloting, optimizing, reactioneering, mechanics and conversion of raw materials into desired products, product will not be successfully achieved if safety is not given top priority. Little deviation of parameters from control limits can be catastrophic, therefore investing in educating oneself on the best practices on Safe Measures is not only for monetary gain in one’s career, but also lifesaving.
